Scope
The town of Canmore, Alberta is one of the fastest-growing small urban centres in Canada. Bordered by two spring-fed creeks, the Spring Creek site covers 70 acres and has become one of the most desirable destinations in Canmore. The area has seen rapid growth in mixed-use commercial and residential development over the past six years, with even more expansion forecasted over the next 5+ years.
Primary has completed a mix of design, design/build, and construction only projects for single phase residential, bareland condo, and commercial distribution servicing projects for Spring Creek Real Estate over the last six years. These projects include the design and installation of shallow utility infrastructure including power, telecommunications, and gas.
Takeaways
Several elements have made the Spring Creek project a success, beginning with strong communication. We have worked closely with the client, FortisAlberta, ATCO Gas and the local telecoms to ensure all partners were updated regularly and were operating on the same page. We have continued to be responsive to the needs of our client and partners, and have built trust through open and honest communication. Lastly, we have implemented strategies to optimize change management and bring clarity to the notification and approval processes.
