Iryna Petryshyn, EIT
Project Support, Edmonton
Iryna continues to grow her career at Primary. She first joined our Saskatoon office as a Project Support, then transitioned to an Environmental and Communications Specialist position. At the beginning of 2021, she moved to the Edmonton office, where she started her new role as an Electrical Engineer EIT (Engineer-In-Training). Iryna enjoys the vibrant family atmosphere at Primary, and a culture that supports, understands and encourages team members.
Away from the office, Iryna enjoys exploring nature with her dog Rhubarb, kickboxing, reading, hiking, and doing different arts and crafts.
Rochelle Daniels, P. Eng.
Project Engineer, Calgary/Edmonton
Rochelle has always enjoyed the problem-solving aspects of math and science. She was drawn to electrical engineering during her first year at university after enjoying the circuits and programming courses. Now as a project engineer at Primary, she delivers street lighting and shallow utilities projects from the quote process through to record drawings. Starting with design, she runs lighting models, reviews drawings, completes calculations, and communicates with approval bodies and clients.
Rochelle is excited to be a part of the unique culture at Primary. She finds her colleagues genuinely passionate about completing projects the right way and doing the best job possible. Rochelle enjoys giving back to her community, having volunteered with Operation Minerva in which Grade 8 girls shadowed women in STEM careers. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and riding her motorcycle.
Kevin Rai, P. Eng.
Buildings Electrical Team Lead, Burnaby
Kevin is responsible for the management and growth of the Buildings Electrical Division. He is directly involved with planning and overseeing projects, project delivery, business planning and forecasting, and high-level design work. He strives to deliver superior engineering service, transparency, and professionalism to Primary’s clientele.
What initially drew Kevin to Primary was that his personal values aligned very well with the company’s values. He appreciates the family-oriented culture, respectful environment, strong technical knowledge among the various departments, and the ability to offer mentorship to junior employees. Outside of the office, Kevin enjoys weightlifting, yoga, running, barbequing and spending time with family.
Director of Northern Alberta Engineering, Edmonton
Jordan was initially attracted to Primary by the close-knit team and the multi-disciplinary approach to project management and delivery. The opportunity to be intimately involved in multiple aspects of delivery, from technical design and material specification to contractor management and customer care, speaks to Jordan’s taste for fully integrated project delivery.
Jordan currently serves as the Director of Northern Alberta Engineering, and thoroughly enjoys the excitement and innovation that comes with developing new engineering solutions for customers. He particularly cares for strong team collaboration, honest and transparent management strategies, and a no-nonsense approach that focuses on getting projects done right.
Human Resources Specialist, Calgary
Wendy first joined Primary in the fall of 2012 as a Human Resources Specialist to handle multiple tasks related to employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training. Her role evolved to include more responsibility for our fast-growing company, including coordinating hockey tournaments, marketing, and organizing social events. Wendy has seen Primary grow from 100 employees to over 280 and expand our reach across Canada. She feels great pride in what Primary has achieved to date and is looking forward to many future accomplishments.
For Wendy, Primary is not just a job; it has become a family away from home. She values the encouragement for personal growth, work-life balance, and the manager’s open-door policy which allows people to share their knowledge and opinions. Outside of work, Wendy is enrolled in a Law Certificate program and she has a passion for supporting and advocating for those with intellectual disabilities.
Slava Revzin, C.E.T.
Intermediate Distribution Technologist, Winnipeg
Slava holds the distinction of being the very first employee of Primary’s Winnipeg office. With his five years of electrical and gas distribution design experience, he made an immediate impact, leading and delivering designs for the new portfolio of Manitoba Hydro projects.
As our team continues to grow, Slava plays a key role in training his peers on various aspects of distribution design, enabling them to work independently. As a mentor, Slava values his role in shaping the culture at Primary and enjoys sharing his vast knowledge with his colleagues in Manitoba and across Canada. In his free time, Slava can be found hiking, biking, going to the gym, playing soccer, and spending time with friends and family.
Senior Designer, Saskatoon
Heather was always intrigued by the culture at Primary. During her time with a major telecom in Saskatoon, she enjoyed collaborating with Vlad Bendasyuk (VP of Central Canada Operations) and Matthew Beynham (Director of Telecommunications, AB & SK). When an opportunity arose at Primary, she jumped at the chance to join a growing company brimming with vibrancy.
Since joining in September 2020, Heather has enjoyed being part of a family with many diverse backgrounds. She values the trust, appreciation, and independence that she and her team are shown. In her spare time, Heather enjoys biking, walking, fishing, and hanging with her family and friends.
Construction Supervisor, Calgary
Mo owes a lot to the friend who recommended Primary to him. Thanks to his glowing review of the company as an amazing place to work, with great people and commitment to health and safety, Mo is now six years into his Primary career and was recently promoted to Construction Supervisor. He credits the senior leadership team for making him feel like a person - not a number. Mo believes that this is the culture that Primary fosters every day. In his spare time, he enjoys camping and fishing, and spending time with his family.
Andrea Addo, P. Eng.
Project Engineer, Mississauga
Andrea first joined Primary through a co-operative education program. Now a Professional Engineer, she has experienced the company’s support of individual career development firsthand. Andrea values the unique level of collaboration present across all of Primary’s offices, and she attributes much of her success to the diversity of experience, and access to mentorship, that was available to her early on. Andrea is focused on distribution planning, and throughout her time at Primary, has enjoyed witnessing growth in surrounding communities as a result of her team’s efforts. Andrea is passionate about team building, strong mentorship, and promoting diversity in the engineering and construction industry. She has found that her values align with the company’s mission, and she is excited to move forward in her career as part of the Primary team.
