Employment Opportunities
Primary is excited to announce that our 2024 Indigenous Student Bursary is now accepting applications!
At Primary, we recognize the importance of providing capacity-building opportunities for Indigenous peoples. Our goal is to support Indigenous communities and increase the visibility of underrepresented groups in the engineering, design, and construction sectors.
The bursary is available to full-time Indigenous students across Canada at any stage of their post-secondary education, enrolled in programs that align with Primary’s business focus areas. These areas include Powerline Technicians (PLTs), electrical engineering, design/design-build, drafting, and more.
Five Indigenous students will be selected to receive $2,000 in financial assistance for the upcoming fall semester.
Submission Requirements:
✅Proof of ancestry
✅Copy of acceptance letter from an accredited post-secondary or educational institute or your most recent transcript and current semester schedule.
✅A written or recorded personal introduction detailing who you are and how this scholarship will help you in achieving your academic goals.

We are excited to announce that Primary Employee James Flood and his UBC team have won the UBCO Engineering Capstone competition!
After 8 months of hard work, James and 5 of his peers submitted their year-end Capstone Project Competition in the Complex Systems category, competing alongside 48 other teams of mainly 4th year engineering undergraduate students.
Teams were split into Sustainability, Advanced Manufacturing, Biocompatible Systems, Complex Systems, and Infrastructure categories based on the scope and functionality of their project.
James and his team built a Cable Tray Robot with the goal of pulling and placing electrical cable into cable trays. This is normally a job done by an electrician and is hugely time consuming and physically demanding. They built this robot with the hopes that it would alleviate risks, reduce project costs, and increase productivity.
Their student-led team came up with the idea themselves, secured a $3,000 scholarship and carefully budgeted throughout the year to build their prototype design.
For this work, their team was awarded 1st Place - Complex Systems and 1st Place - Best Overall.
