Join our innovative team as we partner with BC Hydro in a pioneering program to provide end-to-end electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and utility connection designs. This integrated service model is at the forefront of supporting BC Hydro goals to provide over 3000 public charging ports by 2030.

We are seeking a proactive and entrepreneurial EVSE and Distribution Design Specialist to play a key role in supporting the growth of our team in meeting the demands of EV charging infrastructure in British Columbia. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management that is aimed at delivering both EVSE and BC Hydro distribution designs.


Key Functions:

  • Design and manage EVSE projects, including civil and electrical aspects.
  • Develop distribution designs for BC Hydro to ensure reliable power supply.
  • Oversee projects from feasibility through to commissioning and closeout.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive site feasibility studies for potential EV charging locations.
  • Prepare detailed design packages at various stages, manage sub-consultants and contractors, and handle all permitting and stakeholder communications.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of and ensure compliance with design standards and best practices, including BC Hydro ES55, ES54, ES53, the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), and other relevant guidelines, to deliver compliant EVSE and utility connection designs.
  • Drive project timelines, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Lead initiatives to innovate and improve design methodologies, reducing time to market while enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies in EV charging infrastructure, incorporate best practices into project designs, and propose deployment of new technology where appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of experience in construction, engineering, or utility industries.
  • Technical diploma or engineering degree from a recognized university.
  • Familiarity with the CEC and experience in electrical distribution design; BC Hydro experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Must be personable and effective in client and stakeholder interactions.
  • Strong English language skills (verbal and written), ability to develop strong business relationships and act in a professional manner.
  • Valid Canadian passport and residence in British Columbia is strongly preferred.
  • Class 5 Driver’s license.

Salary Range: $33.65 – $43.27 per hour
