NEES Consulting, a nine-person consulting firm based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, that specializes in power systems engineering has been acquired by Primary Engineering and Construction.

With the increasing demand for electrification, we are experiencing remarkable growth in our engineering services across Canada. This acquisition will help solidify our position as a premier transmission and distribution service provider nationwide.

NEES Consulting, founded in 2010 by Brad Nielsen, has earned a stellar reputation for its commitment to quality and customer service, perfectly aligning with Primary’s core values. Since 2012, NEES has been a trusted provider of engineering services to SaskPower, Saskatchewan’s principal provider of electrical power services to more than 500,000 customers.

“The synergy between Primary and NEES Consulting is founded on shared values of innovation, excellence, and a client-centred approach to project delivery,” says Primary President and CEO Jesse Spring.
“By integrating NEES's experienced team of engineers and technologists, Primary is poised to significantly enhance our capabilities in substation and switching station designs — areas of critical importance to the evolving needs of our clients across the power utilities and private sectors.”

Vlad Bendasyuk, Primary’s Vice President of Power Systems, will lead the integration of the NEES team into the company.

Brad Nielsen will remain onboard to facilitate the transition and deployment of joint services. We are grateful for Brad's support as we embark on this journey together, building upon his legacy.

“NEES is a local, trusted, reliable engineering firm providing quality designs. I have heard only good things about them from SaskPower. They get things done.”

We are thrilled to welcome the NEES Consulting team to the Primary family and look forward to a prosperous future.
