Reporting to the Team Lead – Project Management, the Project Manager is responsible for the overall execution of underground/overhead electrical distribution (4Kv to 25kV), communication, and street lighting turnkey design-build projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the delivery of high-quality, on-budget, and on-schedule delivery of concurrent turnkey projects from engineering through construction to energization.
  • Preparation of estimates and proposals inclusive of redline designs, material takeoffs, and construction for turnkey projects.
  • Occasional off-site meetings, site visits, and field inspections in the Calgary and surrounding area.
  • Coordination with customers, municipal approving authorities, other approving agencies as needed, utility infrastructure owners, and various project stakeholders. Such coordination is essential for each project’s success.
  • Accountable for regular and complete project communications to all stakeholders, including project schedule, project cost, project risks and mitigation measures, and other required reporting.
  • Proactively consult and develop solutions for clients to suit their business needs.
  • Sales and customer relationship building.
  • Peer mentoring and training with other team members.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in the utility industry would be an asset.
  • Experience in the design and cost estimating of street lighting projects would be an asset.
  • Applicants must present with a certificate/diploma in Engineering Technology or Project Management or have equivalent trades experience (PLT / PSE).
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office tools (Word/Outlook/Excel).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and a strong propensity for organization.
  • Applicants should be confident in learning a variety of online tools and software.
