Primary Engineering is excited to work with engineering coop students in the 2025 calendar year to offer practical experience in the planning and design of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities. We cultivate a strong culture of teaching, mentoring, and teamwork that has made our Edmonton office a great place to work, and our explosive growth has us consistently looking for bright engineers to join our team! This is an 8-month term from January until August 2025, with the possibility for an extension.
Electrical Engineering co-op students are expected to gain exposure to a variety of aspects of project design and execution including:
- Alignment planning and stakeholder consultation.
- Site visits and field survey.
- Survey requisitions and specifications.
- Underground line design including civil.
- Preparation and submission of approvals packages to municipalities, utility owners, and other stakeholders.
- Drafting and facilities mapping systems.
- Material planning.
- Budget and schedule management.
- Coordination with construction resources.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must currently be registered and in good standing with a qualified engineering program at an accredited institution.
- Applicants must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
- Applicants should demonstrate above-average written and verbal communication skills, a strong propensity for time management, and a humble and teachable attitude.
