Creating an Electrical /Civil design and overseeing the construction within one of Canada’s most recognized, popular and Historical Parks saw many unique challenges. There were time sensitive issues due to the Pacific Blue Heron nesting season, public safety concerns. With over 8 million visitors annually in the park, landmark trees and vegetation needed to be considered and preserved through arborist coordination. The constant uncertainty that historical artifacts could be uncovered along the 2 km’s of trenching required archeological coordination and monitoring during excavation. Construction management required the coordination of civil and electrical crews, arborists, archeologists, First Nations representatives, City of Vancouver Electrical and Parks Board Departments.
Project was completed on time within the allotted budgets and with minimal environmental and archeological impact.
